Bio / Techniques:

The original drawing was taken from an image of a comicbook character called Shi. My friends said that image looked like me, so I decided to paint a self-portrait. To make the background I traced the texture using some kind of pastels and then adding the texture in Detailer. The drawing, again, I traced the image in Painter 5, then I drew the cat in Painter 5. I had a hard time doing the shadows and the shining around the bodies. To make the shining effect I used the feather mask tool. Then I cloned the composition to cancel the floter selections.

Peeling my face off was not as painful as it looks. I used an Umax Astra 600S scanner, cleaned up the image and did the dental work in Photoshop on a 68040 Mac and used Webdings type for the characters over my head. I feel much better today.
