| dreaming....sometimes so real, it's difficult to distinguish reality from dreaming, or perhaps one need not do so. Why have we been taught to consider dreaming not "real"? Sometimes the most exquisite images and passions are experienced while in a dream state. This state-of-mind pushes the envelope of color, design and visual feasting, and is often the catalyst for literal renderings of those experiences. - Victoria Lenne | ||

Description:
I can remember when I was a child of having a recurring dream of floating above my bed ,way out, so I could see roof tops and stars. But I was always tethered. I was a sickly child and this out of body type of experience might have been as a result of medication. The image is done in Painter 5. I used pens, brushes, chalk, watercolor and plain water. |

Description:
This is a recurring dream that I have tried to express in a painting. My dream is of being in complete darkness and seeing a sliver of light and going to the light. I try to enter but cannot, however I do see paintings along a wall. The paintings are not clear to me, but I do know that there are paintings and a very bright light. I'm always trying to see more, but it never happens. Maybe I'll be able to see them when I move onto the next plane or wherever. In the painting,I made small minatures but I did not see them in my dream but thought it would be more explanatory. |

Description:
I'm not sure where it comes from, only that it is a different reality than the one experienced by my physical self. I would imagine that the dreamlike, cosmic quality of this work is something that one would experience on a subconscious level. A window into the lessons we are are taught during our dreams and a preview into lives to come. |

Description:
In my personal art I'm very much drawn (no pun intended) to the portrait - and the eye in particular. So when I switch from the hard edged left brain mode of the day, eyes are often my subject. This image was created on one such occasion just a few days ago. I found it haunting, abstract, indeterminate, dreamlike and 'dark'... unusual for me. |

| Title: Childhood Memories |

Description:
"Childhood Memories" is a combination of two sketches I already had, with a few modifications. I was commissioned to do some children's fantasy sketches, and hardly knew where to begin. I realized that all I had to do was start! The ideas were already in my head somewhere, and to my surprise just flowed out as I drew and daydreamed my way along. I'm still working in Photoshop LE, but have at least upgraded to a 12" Wacom drawing tablet (instead of my mouse). Don't know enough about digital graphics to contribute to the list, but enjoy listening! |
