Sooner or later, everyone needs a good gold grad to work with, so I made up a custom grad library you can use with Painter 4 or 5. I use them as the basis for backgrounds, borders, and text effects. The download is a .grd (grad library) file saved as a zip archive.
This is a gold fractal pattern that can be used with Painter 4 or 5. It was made with the freeware Win 95 fractal generator called "Iterations". By the way, Iterations, Flarium 24, and other freeware fractal generators for Win 95 can be obtained at http://home1.gte.net/itriazon/main.htm.

These are four Painter paper files. One is of maple leaves that I got from my yard and scanned into Painter - it can work using the Growth brush from MetaCreations Wild Bundle, or with the Spatter Airbrush variant (which does pretty much the same thing). The second file is a simple diamond pattern generated using Painter's Create Paper function. If you use it with Apply Surface Texture with the light direction in the 9 o'clock position, it makes a pretty quilted effect. The third file was scanned from a rock. The thumbnail shows it applied as a surface texture to a plain white canvas. The fourth file was scanned from a piece of terrycloth.
These are three Painter paper files created with Iterations and Flarium 24. The first two are spidery-looking patterns, and the third one is a lacy-looking paper that would work well as a surface texture or the basis for a pattern.
